I was just sinking into sleep last night when this pulled me back to consciousness. I was somewhere between thinking and dreaming, not so deep that I didn’t notice the (somewhat cliché) poetry of that sentence, but deep enough that I lost all sense of its origin & context on the way back to the surface. Besides the bare words, there was only the impression that it was important to understand the sentence in the subjunctive mood. (Linnéa, is that right?)
